All our sites and industrial activities are firmly rooted in their local communities. As this is the case, Colas continuously strives to reduce the impact of its material production, construction and site activities on local residents and users. This means not only improving our industrial processes to reduce their impact, but also engaging in local dialogue and increasing economic benefits to maximize the uptake of our sites and projects.

Reducing the impact of our activities

At Colas, our goal is to reduce the impact of our production on the local population and users.

Promoting social acceptance of our buildings and construction sites

As well as taking steps to manage our impact, to ensure social acceptance, we must listen and consult with local people and users to prevent potential conflicts. Colas uses tools to identify and locate different sources of interference and offers applications that facilitate communication between local residents and employees in the field.

The group trains its managers and site supervisors, who are in direct contact with the local population and users, for local dialogue. This approach promotes ownership of this complex issue on the ground and ensures that our response is tailored to each local context.
