As one of the world's leading recyclers, Colas recovers and recycles materials and waste, including in particular demolition waste, from its infrastructure and industrial sites, in its 420 recycling facilities worldwide and on its infrastructure projects. The Group is therefore able to offer its customers circular economy solutions by developing platforms for recovery and recycling, as well as solutions for the reuse of materials. In this way, Colas helps to preserve natural resources.

Facing the challenges of the circular economy throughout the Group
Raising employee awareness, innovation and the introduction of everyday solutions are the key drivers for accelerating the adoption of the circular economy. In particular, such initiatives help to embed behavioral change not only at the individual and collective level but also at the industry level.

Investment in research and development for material recycling
The circular economy is and has always been a core area of research and development at Colas. The main focus is on on-site recycling of road surfaces, recycling of asphalt mixture, use of alternative materials such as organic residues and research on additives and binders based on industrial co-products and by-products.

Development and promotion of the use of recycling platforms
One of the key challenges posed by the circular economy is the need for dense geographic coverage in order to offer our customers local access to waste recycling and recycled materials. Colas particularly focuses on the development of recycling platforms and multi-activity platforms (quarrying, recycling, etc.).

Offer customers circular economy solutions
We play a key role in the circular economy by:
We limit the amount of waste generated by each business unit
We also promote the offer of operationally ready solutions for the recovery and recycling of materials
We rely on environmentally friendly alternatives to offer resource-conserving solutions, such as on-site recycling
